Weather Headlines & Hypers
Written on: 12th Mar 2021
Once again, the UK media have decided to start publishing articles similar to the ones below.

The “Twitter community” has also begun it’s yearly hyping cycle with some posting GFS charts from over 10 days away and using them to claim that “winter and widespread snow” is on the way. is there any truth to the claims?
In short, no. The above headlines are using the same source, James Madden of Exacta weather. A man with no meteorological qualifications. This is a man who for years now has consistently claimed the coldest winter on record/in X amount of time is on the way. Laughably, he’s been consistently wrong.
Why does the UK media continue to use him as a source? It’s simple, really, the headlines generate clicks, ad revenue & newspaper sales. They don’t care whether or not there’s any truth to the headlines and they certainly don’t care about the affect they have on the more vulnerable members of our society.
Any paper, organisation or twitter weather forecaster that claims to know what the weather will be doing beyond 2 weeks is talking tripe & I would suggest should be utterly avoided.
